(Saturday) - Equipment Relocation to New DataCentre. From
about 10am for up to three hours we are re-locating all
of our equipment to a new and improved state-of-the-art
facility. This will improve many aspects of our service.
The most noticable change will be an upgrade by our service
provider to offer nearly 50% more bandwidth to us. Please
bear with us on this, it's really very necessary and our
first service outtage in nearly 3 years.

- Extensive improvements have been made to our WebMail
interface those that use it should notice speed improvements
and an all round smoother experience. Please report any
problems to support@unihost.net
as usual.

- Due to Blaster Virus and SoBig virus alerts, Unihost
were astounded at the sheer volume of email traffic generated
by these two nasties. As a result a few may have noticed
the email service being unavailable for certain periods
of the day. This was due to a major overhaul of the email
systems, and after a few teething issues, service should
now have been resumed as usual. This has allowed us to
put various measures in place to help safeguard our customers.
All incoming emails through Unihost infrastructure are
now scanned for known virus instances, and virus bound
emails found will be quarantined. This is because in 99.99%
of cases the email usually contains no useful informations
anyway. In addition some types of attachment are automatically
blocked by default, these are usually attachments which
are not normally sent, except by virus (.pif for example).

- In an effort to combat the worldwide SPAM problem, we
have added some extra SPAM countermeasures. We hope this
will contimue to reduce the quantity of SPAM received
by our customers.
